Why Labour Rights ?

"Labor rights empower workers, ensuring fair treatment, safe conditions, and dignified wages—a foundation for a just and thriving society."

"Championing labor rights for migrant workers: Elevating the backbone of our economy, one right at a time."

Recognizing the inherent dignity of every worker, we advocate tirelessly for labor rights, driven by the conviction that fair, just, and equitable workplaces are the cornerstones of vibrant communities. By championing the cause of labor rights, we seek not only to improve individual lives but also to foster societal transformation, ensuring that the principles of justice and respect extend across borders and resonate in the collective consciousness.

Labour Education

We Engage and empower workers through a multifaceted approach that encompasses labor workshops, discussions, and online training sessions in both Yangon and Mae Sot. These activities aim to raise awareness of workers’ rights, ignite union participation, and strengthen networks among both experienced and new workers. Additionally, specialized training programs, such as Migrants Law & Policy Training, equip newcomers with essential knowledge about current situations, legal mechanisms, and workers’ rights.

Action Based Movement

Engage with our action-oriented programs that encourage self-organization and collective efforts among Burmese workers. By fostering a sense of community and solidarity, enabling workers to take meaningful actions for their rights. Our efforts span a wide spectrum, delivering immediate wage and working condition improvements while nurturing self-reliance and capacity building for long-term human development goals. At Yaung Chi Oo Workers Association, we unite with workers to advocate for Labour Rights, Democracy, and Justice. Through collective efforts, we empower the workforce, safeguard their rights, uphold democratic values, and strive for justice. Together, we foster a fair and just environment for every worker. We have stood with thousands of migrants, representing tens of thousands of their co-workers in pursuing workplace grievances.
